So i’ve suffered from acne for a looooong time. I remember one day refusing to go to school because it was that BAD. I was recommended to use a skin cream which completely reacted with my skin and I’ve genuinely never felt so self-conscious in my life.
I was then put on antibiotics which i’m still on now.. to try and combat my acne. After a while my antibiotics worked and I instantly started to feel so much better. However, fairly recently my antibiotics became resistant and I felt like I was back to square one.
So again I was put onto another course of antibiotics but started to pay more attention to my skin care routine.. I literally just used make up wipes and that’s it. I recently discovered that make up wipes don’t actually clean your skin.. they smear make up and dirt around your face without actually washing it off. Make up wipes can cause pigmentation, irritation and break outs.. so why on earth was I using these when I already had really bad skin.
I then went into Kiehls skin care and realised how much time I should really take on my skin and to preserve it as I get older. I use their cleanser, toner, face cream.. eye cream.. face oil, everything! Oh my days have I really seen a difference. My face is brighter, I don’t look so tired and my spots started to go. Their spot cream is absolutely incredible for break outs.
I also recommend Spa Find which is completely under rated and Dermalogica.
I have researched on when you should change your skin care products and apparently it is really good to change your products when your skin changes, for example if you feel your skin is getting more oily or an acne flare up.
Most importantly, bare with the products.. nothing will change over night.
On another note.. summer is coming! So sun protection use should be at it’s highest. I wear factor 50 everyday (winter or summer) to avoid as many wrinkles as possible and protect my skin from damage.
I’m still not at the stage where I love my skin.. but i’m getting there. I don’t have very much patience.
Look after your skin and it will look after you!
Lots of love,
