Sooo here it is, that time again.
I’ve just found out my exam dates and they seem a lot closer than expected so now I’m frantically revising trying to make sure I know everything about Law.. (a wide concept I know.) However it made me think of how stress affects how we eat, particularly when we work (what feels like) 24/7. Sometimes we eat too much and sometimes we don’t eat enough. So from experience I believe snacking is one of the best ways to encourage healthy eating and feed the mind!
So instead of snacking on high sugar foods, why not swap to a more healthy alternative? For example almonds. I looked into these little gems and I didn’t realise how many nutrients they deliver.
- They are LOADED with antioxidants
- Antioxidants help protect against oxidative stress, which can damage molecules in your cells and contribute to inflammation, aging and diseases like cancer
- Almonds can help with blood sugar control, nuts are low in carbs but high in healthy fats and fibre. This makes them a perfect choice for people with diabetes.
- Eating Almonds reduces hunger. So instead of snacking on little sugary snacks, why not try a healthy alternative?
Being stressed can mean a high level of stress hormones (cortisol) in the body causing you to have a higher craving for fatty and sugary foods. So stay prepared by binning the sugar and having some healthier alternatives.
